Seiling Animal Control

Licenses for Dogs are required within the Town of Seiling. Licenses are available from City Hall. Owners are responsible for keeping their animals properly confined.

 

Dog Licenses

     $3.00 for any Male or Female Dogs

 

If your dog is caught roaming free, it will be impounded and owners will be subject to fines & penalties.  See below for details.

 

Dog Impound Fines

First  & Second Offense -         $25.00 plus Boarding Fee at $5.00 per day

 

If there is a Third Offense, owners will be unable to retrieve the dog.

If you are missing a dog and think it might have been picked up by Seiling Animal Control, please come by the Town Office.  We keep a list of dogs with pictures that are held in our Animal Control holding facility.  The Animal Control facility is not open to the public but the town office will have all needed information.

Dog Fine & Tags

  1. The owner of any licensed dog impounded may redeem such dog at any time prior to destruction by the payment of twenty five dollars ($25.00), plus five dollars ($5.00) a day for each twenty four hour period, or any portion thereof, for boarding the animal.  The owner of any dog that is impounded multiple times may receive a written citation in addition to the above mentioned fine.  The owner of any dog that is destroyed, whether by request, necessity, or violation, shall pay a fee of twenty dollars ($20.00) per dog.

  2. The owner of any unlicensed dog impounded may redeem such dog at any time prior to destruction by the payment of twenty five dollars ($25.00), plus five dollars ($5.00) a day for each day the dog was in the pound.  The owner will pay an additional fee for a rabies vaccination voucher to be redeemed at the Seiling Vet Clinic.  Upon presenting this voucher to the Seiling Vet Clinic, the clinic has agreed to provide rabies shots at no additional cost to the dog owner.  The owner of any dog that is destroyed, whether by request, necessity, or violation, shall pay a fee of twenty dollars ($20.00) per dog.  (2014 Code)
